Zonta Project Vision

Project Vision

It was during  the Adult and Health Literacy Program series, that Project Vision was  conceptualized .  Members  observed that many women participants had difficulty  reading the Readers Digest.  How can one promote Adult Literacy and encourage reading if the faculty of sight becomes a major concern?

The eye program consist of two parts.  The first part, a free eye check-up with  consultation  and the second and most awaited part is the distribution of the  free reading glasses.

Dra. Cristy Querido, an Optometrist friend of Maria Morris volunteered her talent and time for the poor and marginalized women beneficiaries.

The Club provides the free low cost reading glasses procured by Ofel Santos herself. She and Pres. Beth donated the reading glasses which has now 150 beneficiaries.

The project’s primary objective is to prevent vision loss in women so that they can do their   household chores without difficulty.  Most importantly for the Club is to encourage them to read.

The Project which started in November 2012, has already serviced Barangays Pinagbuhatan and San Antonio.  Two hundred (200) women is targeted to benefit from this service program.
